Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. The school placed second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix was signed to a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She was then accepted into University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix has consistently placed in the top 3 throughout her events during the Olympics which took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
